I caught the sky tonight
Just before it went on sale.
Anyone could see it;
But nobody was looking.
It was almost about
To reach its use-by date.
So it was splendid;
But nobody was looking.
It'll be there tomorrow -
Early and expectant.
Yearning after yesterday -
When nobody was looking.
